El Camino inner tie rod for conversion question

I've seen a couple threads talking about this, and wanted to verify if it's accurate. While converting my 67 C20 to a C10, instead of using a 67 outer tie rod as an inner, and using a squarebody outer tie rod with the POL sleeve adapter in the middle, I could use a 75 ish El Camino inner tie rod and squarebody outer tie rod with a normal adjusting sleeve. Is this correct? It's just that simple? FYI, my C20 centerlink is from a manual steering setup if that makes a difference.

Re: El Camino inner tie rod for conversion question

When I did my disk brake/spindle conversion, )a 78 c10) I just used the power steering cross link, idler arm and pitman arm as well as all 4 Tie rods and the sleeves from a 78. It made it easier for replacements. I knew the whole front end was 78 if I ever needed any parts

Re: El Camino inner tie rod for conversion question

I've never done the conversion you're doing, so perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about... But here goes..

Starting point ---- 1967 C/20
Ending point ----- 1967 C/10

C/10 springs and shocks
Couldn't you change the ball joints to C/10s??
Install 71-72 C/10 spindles (disk brakes)
Install 71-72 C/10 center link, idler arm, and Pittman arm
71-72 tie rods - inner, outer, sleeve..
