December 2024 ToTM
Since December is normally thought of with gift giving, our Truck of the Month (ToTM) theme for December is a type of gift giving we will phrase as:
Hand Me Downs! Unlike some of the clothes, our theme is a hand me down we LOVE. Those beloved vehicles that we got from a parent, grandparent, older siblings, or other relative. To be an eligible for this month's contest:
You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, the Make/Model/Year of vehicle, and which family member the truck came from. Nominees will run through November 23. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up by November 24 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of December 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of December 1. The announcement of the TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

Re: December 2024 ToTM
Both of these were bought new by my dad. He sold the Camaro in 1973. I was able to find it and buy it back in 1991
My dad bought the 1995 Dually new in August of 1995 and mostly used it to pull a horse trailer. My dad passed away in 2008. My step mom continued to use the truck form time to time. But 2 years ago she told me it was time to let it go. I had to have it, and gladly paid her for the truck. These are very sentimental to me, and I’m very proud to own both of these.

Re: December 2024 ToTM
My Mother in Law bought our '35 Chevy for us. The first two pictures are the day we went to look at it for the first time. Third picture is the day we went to bring it home two months later. The last two pictures are what it looks like inside and out at this time. I am always improving things.

Re: December 2024 ToTM
I'll nominate my 1970 CST/10 that I got from my Dad just a couple of years ago. This truck has been in my family since 1974, and it will always be in the family.
I even got a shot of him signing over the title. He passed away back in February, so this truck has a lot of meaning to our entire family. Gary

Re: December 2024 ToTM
My dad bought this 1976 Chevy Sport brand new from S & J Chevrolet, Cerritos, Ca. My grandparents and dad always bought their new cars from the same salemans named Al. Al, my dad and I took a new 1976 cab and chassis from S & J Chevrolet's lot and traded for the Chevy Sport at another Dealership, don't remember their name. The following week Al drove it to the Nevada state line to deliver to my dad. It has had one repaint, new interior, new cam, lifters and timing chain and rebuilt transmission, 261,000 miles.

Re: December 2024 ToTM
My uncle purchased this 42 Chevy about 12 years ago at an auction near Seaman. The truck at one time had come from Somerset KY and was used as a drag truck. The doors had "Alley Cat" on them and belonged to a radiator shop there.
I restored it to a rod for him about 10 years ago. He just turned 90 and he and my aunt gave the truck to me last year.
