cowl vent
I am in the finishing of the 51 and I don't have a clue how the cowl vent attaches and I don't have the hinges or hardware. I have the brace and handle to open and close it but nothing else. It was apart when I got it and I have looked online and only found the bolts but no pics or hinges that I can see. HOPEFULLY someone can help with pics or and website to see how it all works.

I just went out and shot this photo of the hinges, I don't have my cowl vent available for a photo but it bolts right to these hinges, it's that simple.

These diagrams show the poarts and how they go together. I'll try to remember to get a photo of one I have in the morning.

Has anyone found the bolts that work? Not sure what kind attachments are out the for the rectangular slots that pivot the cowl.

Just hardware store stuff is all I used. A nylock on the pivot bolt, couple drops of oil in the pivot. It has been working fine

Are these actual hinges. Meaning they move or are stationary? Mine are not moving/frozen in a “L”.

Yes, that is where they pivot. Looks like you have rivets at the pivot, mine must have been drilled out at some point. I don't remember doing that, but probably did.

It's been awhile but I think I use carriage bolts for the slots in the hinge. Probably would be fine with a regular bolt and lock nut.

If I remember and it isn't too wet and miserable in the morning I'll go out and spray some PB blaster on the ones on the 49 cab I have and take at least one out and get you some good photos.
