Mobilortho, I feel ya, it took me a long time to figure out how to fix a door that didn’t sit flush with the rest of the body. Everyone tells you how to adjust fore and aft but no one could tell me how to make it flush without boring out the hinge holes. As far as the gap goes I lined up the body lines at the front and rear of the doors first then welded a bead where the gap was too big and ground off where too close. If you grind through the metal on the edge you will need to tac weld back together. Lastly I took a flap disc got it close and finished with a large file.

Took a break on the truck to work on loading up the new toolbox. Thought this would be plenty of room but I could use more space. I hate looking for the tools when working on stuff. It’s a harbor freight icon box, price was comparable to the used snap-on boxes.

Looks like you already got yours figured out, but you can bend the hinges to adjust the alignment with other panels. See post #17 here:

I also added bushings to my hinges like this:

Re: Jans 53

Yes that’s basically what I did to fix my door that wasn’t sitting flush.

Re: Jans 53

Been a while since I’ve been on the forum. Finally sold my mothers house and her estate has been settled so time to get back to the truck. I built a temporary 12x20 carport to use for a paint booth. Installed the lights today and it looks like it will work for me. Got my new compressor a couple months ago and have installed the filter, drier and water separator. Some more sanding and cooler weather needed before paint.
