I do have confidence that I could remedy these but I do want to drive this truck someday and the time/money it would take to do this I have come to feel would not be worth it. And # 2 comfortron. Even though they do make a hvac control panel that directly fits in cosmetically I've studied this over many occasions and it's too complicated to work it into our hvac system. So hopefully the parts come in the next 2 weeks to mount this antenna and then it will be off to final metal and in the new year. My head hurts thinking how to work all these cadillac options into this truck. Maby next year I'll complete this build. We'll see how fast this goes thru bodywork. I'm sure it won't be as fast as I like lol.
I'll believe you're done with mods when the truck is done. This whole truck is a GMC-tron. I kid you about it, but I don't want you to stop. I love what you have done/are doing. It is inspired and remarkably cohesive. Don't stop.

Now you're just tooting your own horn.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Well I got the bezel in the mail today and it fits the body curve of the fender really well. I did use a spare driver fender Just to see if it would fit before I made the mod on my fender I'm using. I was going to do the mod on my passenger fender but where I have it here on the fender sitting in the driver seat you can't even see it. It's behind the Pillar so I might leave it there. Would be easier to mod the cowl behind d it on the driver side because the a/c stuff isn't there. Now to figure out bracketry.

Finished all 4 of my headlights and Well I guess the headlight washers are final. I drilled them into my rechromed headlight bezels. With all the new chrome you can barely tell that they are there.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

It seems like a slow rounding. I did modify my power antenna to use a stainless steel cable with plastic coating instead of the nylon cord that they all use that typically breaks. Might be hard to change after when it's installed. Waiting on parts stuck in Canada Post to finish the antenna. Looks like it might be well into January before I get my stuff or later.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

So I decided to use the passenger side like it was factory. Centerd it with the bezel. Now for the hard part. Taking the fender off and making it fit nicely.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I have to do the cornering lights before I take the fenders off to do the antenna so I cut the holesin the mouldings and made the bezels fit. Scary stuff. At least for me. That's the hard part. Now I can cut the back side od the fender out for the light when the fender is off.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

I really fought myself how to add these cornering lamps because it's so hard to do any alterations to the exterior of these trucks . They were so we'll designed for their time and altering the lines would be a shame. That's why I could not use that box top and I kept the adjustable mirrors on the original stems and round even if they are less functional. It's tough to make some of these mods without loosing the period look. One thing I don't want to do is make it look modern in any way. Interior or exterior. Except the lighting. I want to be able to see when I drive.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build

Thanks. Most ppl wouldn't care to or find useless most of the mods I have done (including myself at times) but it's about what the build will be when it's finished. Here's the other side ans with the lenses in them.
