Leaky steering box

The PS gear box on my truck is leaking pretty bad at the rear seal (by the rag joint). Can that be fixed on the truck or do I need to pull the box?

Re: Leaky steering box

It can be fixed on the truck. Pull rag joint/steering shaft loose. Snap ring holds in the seal in the steering box. I had to drive a small sheet metal screw into the seal to get it pulled off if I remember correctly.
The bottom sector shaft seal is easier that the input seal if you just want to replace both at the same time.
