Tightening up a 3 on the Tree

Hi guys,

I'm trying to tighten up the shift linkage on my '69 C-20 with 3 on the tree. I've replaced the shift linkage bushings and adjusted the linkage, and that made a huge difference. The remainder of the slop is coming from the collar on the column that the shifter connects to (outlined in green in the attached pic). The collar itself wobbles up and down as well as axially a fair bit. I've looked high and low for diagrams on how to rebuild that section and for parts with no luck. Has anyone fixed this successfully? If so, where did you get the parts and the diagram to know what to order and replace?

I can't believe this is so hard to track down given the number of these that were sold. I'm finding a ton of stuff on the automatics and the floor shifters - but not one diagram or parts source for the 3 on the tree. Perhaps I'm missing something right in front of my nose? Any help would be appreciated.

This is from the 72 book, might be worn, but someone added cruise control might be missing a piece. Good luck....Also a post "3 OTT missing pieces" shows #39 and 40

#40 nylon thrust washer and #39 rubber bushing....I think 69 would be the same.

Unfortunately, that's for an automatic.

There is an NOS shift housing on ebay for $76 from horsepower? He's a vendor here too, unsure spelling. Just in case when you open this up, it's not all gouged and damaged beyond repair, he may have the bushings you are seeking too

Any chance you could post a link? I searched NOS Chevy shift column on eBay and didn't find one for a 67-72 truck. I'd absolutely buy that if it has all the internals.

It's only the outer aluminum housing, no internals
