New member intro and new to me truck pics.

Hello all, I have been posting a few questions here already and searching like a man obsessed about all things trucks. I just wanted to give a bit or a more formal intro about myself and the truck I just purchased.

I currently live in the Verde Valley of Arizona, and am originally from Iowa. I do not miss tornadoes or winter and while the weather is nice here it is very dusty and keeping my vehicles clean puts my OCD into overtime. I am a a network professional and do everything from engineering to re-wiring desktop lamps smh.

I have done a lot od different jobs in my life including horse trainer, roofer, professional firearms instructor and PC tech and mostly poor working class average dude.

I love the older trucks as I am very sentimental about them as I had one in HS and my dad had a 72 he pulled a horse trailer with and took us to rodeos in. My older truck I had in HS was a real POS and we drank beer and shoved the cans down through the rusted out floorboard.

I am finally of the age I can sort of afford a toy just for myself so I started looking several weeks ago. I ended up with a nice '72 C10 in yellow that I think is one of the nicer ones I looked at. The market is all over the place right now. I would have loved to restore a truck myself but due to time, money, space and health I wanted something I can enjoy now. A lot of classic car enthusiasts are of the mind that you aren't in the real owners group unless you built it but many are in the same boat as myself.

Here are some pics of the truck I bought, let me know what you think. The underside and frame look nice and it is rust free as far as I can tell. I am sure it has flaws somewhere but I wanted to get something in my price range that I could enjoy now. I should be able to correct and fix a lot of things myself once I get it home (another story in my other post lol)

Edit: I forgot to add that the "car" crowd and enthusiasts are usually the nicest people and usually open and welcoming and I have seen that on this forum. So far I haven't ran into the "have you searched this topic before posting". I like to ask about my specific information and I like to talk to people.

Re: New member into and new to me truck pics.

Welcome!
That truck is very nice, very complete and original looking.
It’s nice that you could get one in such great shape and start enjoying it right away.
I did read your other thread and how you are having some troubles currently getting it running reliably and getting it home. I’m sure you will have it sorted in short order.
As you have already found, this is a great group, with a lot of knowledge and ready to help

That's a nice truck. Be patient; you'll get through your current troubles and it's going to be a lot of fun.

It has the 402 so I am thinking I might need to put in a aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. I guess I will see how it does first.

Wow, that is a really nice-looking truck. The yellow stands out very well. Good score. And you will get it all figured out once you start working on it. Keep us posted and provide pictures. People on this forum will help you as you need it. These are the best and most knowledgeable truck guys you will ever find.

I have witnessed the willingness to help on here. I am on some other non-related forums that are a free for all of bashing and you need really thick skin to deal with the BS. Hopefully I can get to the point to help others someday , I need to look at the other forums here too.

The factory cooling setup works just fine, don’t fix it if it ain’t broke. Welcome to the forum, that’s a nice truck. I would leave it as original as possible and just enjoy driving it.

Re: New member into and new to me truck pics.

It has a sliding rear window, did any of these trucks have that as original?
