Re: Show Your Mug - Family Time
Quote:
I weigh 155 lbs, same as I did high school, it's a blessing and a curse. But according to my mother, I weighed 48 lbs. at about 1.5 years. Some may recognize the fellow with me, Hoss. It's at the Mapes Hotel, Reno, 1963. Here's one of my mother's wedding to her childhood sweetheart, who would become my best friend. He was a Lt. Col., Marines. Would have been full Colonel or so, had he played by "the rules". Two Vietnam tours. My mother's uncle is in the sharp blue suit. He was quite remarkable, some say had more juice than anyone in this State, but with that said, he was all class and integrity, second to none. My mother of course, she was remarkable too, and held an appointment through four governors. Skips a generation ![]() The other three guys of five are my brothers and I. I'm on the left, my older brother isn't wearing a jacket, and dickhead, my younger brother is on the right. Dude with white hair just performed the wedding, and the lady on the left my mom's matron of honor. Very small gathering, 1997. Hard to believe that's almost 30 years ago. Here's my dad, sometime in the 1930s. Photo op. He was twice my mom's age when they married, but she liked his music and charm. He was a Hollywood Vegas guy primarily, led string orchestras, big band swing orchestras, and big band Latin. He was real talented. Skips a generation ![]() My boy was a fisherman. He's a big fellow (RH side), like his great great grandpa, my dad's maternal grandpa. I have two other kids as well, proud of them. And my ugly mug, with my girlfriend, in San Govanni D'asso Italy this last July. My first trip to Europe. We visited six countries. I love Italy, the small villages, simple people. The Alps can't be described in pictures or words, mark the bucket list. Despite what my decent might imply, I'm a simple guy, and as I was raised, half the time we scraped by. If I wanted a pair of shoes, well, go out and earn it.
