When I staged I lined up more to the left of the groove and that seemed to straighten it out. Maybe I was out of the groove when I was first lining up. I thought I was lining up correctly. The S10 went straight on Sunday with no problems. I did notice the S10 needs an anti-roll bar. When the truck pulls the front wheels, the truck is not level. The anti-roll bar will fix that.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

Update: Anti-Roll bar installed. Rear 4-link, front and rear shocks, front upper/lower control arms were removed, cleaned and greased. Truck is scaled and ready for the track.

Let me know if you plan a trip to Xtreme and we can talk about it.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

While the S10 was on the lift I noticed the front driver side caliper was dragging. Passenger side wheel would spin freely but the drive side wheel did not. So, I ordered seal kits and rebuilt the caliper. It is a 4-piston Aerospace Components brand. Very good quality and easy to rebuild. Now the wheel spins like the passenger side wheel, no dragging.

Re: 2000 S10 Xtreme Drag Truck

I finally had a nice day to go to the track and make some passes on the new anti-roll bar. Xtreme Raceway Park was open Saturday at noon so off I went. Made five passes and none of them were very good. I redlit 4 of the 5. On my 1st pass I cleared my delay box earlier and could not remember what my delay setting was. I was in the left lane and just entered a number in the box, stagged, light came on and I let go of the button. Truck rolled before I stabbed the throttle, redlight. Just cruised down the track. Got back to the trailer, checked by racers log and found the correct delay and entered it. 2nd pass, in the right lane, stagged, light came on, stabbed the throttle and it launched with the wells up. Redlight.

3rd pass, right lane, redlight.
4th pass, left lane, no redlight
5th pass, right lane, redlight

I never made a full pass because I hit my rev limiter each time way before the finish line. My truck settings are - transbrake (launch) is 4600rpm, shift at 6800 rpm and rev limit at 7400rpm. I run a 32" tall slick, 4.71:1 gear and a turbo 400 trans.

The next trip to the track I will set the truck up with - transbrake 4000rpm, shift 6500rpm and 7400 rev limit.
