No problem asking about them.

I can't help on the question though. I had to get a different phone because my Samsung wouldn't work with my new Bluetooth hearing aids. I ended up with a Google Pixel and it works great with them....

I guess Im a old fart too. I just use it as a phone, text, and some google map driving distances.
I dont do any online banking or any of that crap, because Its to overly complicated and a waste of time and a pain in the arse. I actually miss my flip phone (non smart phone)

I live in the boonies along a river canyon area so my cell reception is horrible

Just need a simple basic function economical "smart Phone"... no fancy high $$$

Any recomendations ? Samsongs are supposed to be real good, ha ha.

Also Ill get a "unlocked" phone too. Cause I might switch from verizon sever

I always liked my Samsung. Basically All I do is phone and text too. If you get a different brand you will have to learn everything all over again. I am having some trouble figuring out some of the stuff on the Google phone. Bah, Humbug!.

Just a note on the charger plug getting worn. I have a Iphone 10 and the charger plug would sometimes not connect. Took it into Verizion and they have a "special" little pick and cleaned out port of all pocket lint. Charged me $10. Has worked well ever since.

Re: Cell Phone info

I prefer the Android phones (ie Samsung for me). Not an Iphone fan at all. Who is you cell provider? they normally have some deals that make getting another fone cheap-ish. I use Verizon an a have had no issues. When you get a new fone, you can uninstall most apps you don't want and kill the advertising stuff a good bit. I just swapped mine out in November, went from beat up Samsung S10e to Samsung S24+ The battery life Is way longer than what the old fone ever was. I can go about 3 days without having to charge.

Well, Holy Moly you are Correct ! I used a sewing needle and scraped back and forth in the slot got some lint crap loosened up , used a shop vac to suck the lint out
Now I can hear/feel the plug snap in place and it works like new .

Yeah !!!

Re: Cell Phone info

Nice fix! I'll remember this if mine ever does it (Samsung Galaxy some number or other). My eldest son has some magnetic gadget that stays in that port and hooks to the charger without ever taking the gadget out.

Re: Cell Phone info

I have an iPhone and I purchased a charging station that cradles the phone with a magnet.
I do have a cable that I use also but, the magnetic charger is simple. Just sit the phone on the cradle.
I have no idea if samsung makes a magnetic charging station…maybe.
Way less wear and tear on the cable port.

Re: Cell Phone info

My plug went bad on my Samsung and I just switched to a wireless charger. I have one at the office, one in the house and one in the truck. been doing great without having to spend a lot for a new phone. 5 Below has the chargers cheap compared to getting them at the phone store
