I think you will be fine. Here is the setup on my K20. I cut the o ring end off and removed the nut of the pressure line from an ‘09 silverado and added an inverted flare nut and re flared it. (Had a brand new line on the shelf from another project and decided to finally use it) As you can see the routing hugged the box nice but was not happy with the inner fender. I too did this upgrade with no font clip on the truck and just decided to trim the inner as needed when I was putting the rest of it back together.
