Yep, 1978 was indeed the first year for the turbo inline 6-71T as well as the low-RPM 6V-92TT "Fuel Squeezer" and the Cummins Formula 290 in these. It's even mentioned in a trade brochure titled "BRUIN - CHEVY'S NEW PAPA BEAR."
