08 v6 trans cooler question

I bought a 08 last year with the 4.3 V6 / 4L60/ VERY basic truck (even crank up windows and manual door locks) AC and a nice factory sat radio is about the only creature comfort it has.

The thing only has 47,000 miles (no typo, ONLY 47k) is super clean, straight, and runs / drives like a new.
I added a Edge CTS to monitor all the stuff the dash doesnt have
One thing that IS available in the DIC is "Trans Temp" Well with the Edge monitor I am seeing hot Arizona summer days (110° ambient) , on the freeway at 80 the trans temp climbs to 218°
Engine is nice and cool at 198 but the trans keeps climbing

So I look and there is NO TRANS COOLER in front of the condenser.

I do NOT want to chance the typical 'universal' coolers with the 'cut a tube and hope like hell the worm-drive clamps holds'

I looked at Mishimoto and a AC Delco and few other but can not find anything that says will 'add' a cooler where there once was none! Everything seems to me a 'replacment' for a factory cooler. Hell I'd be happy to buy a used GM and the factory steel lines. IF I COULD FIND IT.

Anyone have an good ideas? It's gutless with the 4.3 and I don't tow anything, but over 210° trans oil has GOT TO CHANGE

Re: 08 v6 trans cooler question

Super simple.

Buy a 4L60E braided line kit. It will come with the AN fitting for the 60 as well as the braided lines.

Then buy a trans cooler that has either AN fitting or the ability to use AN fittings. Look into the 40K cooler. Just google it.

Mount the cooler, connect the lines, then you’re done.

Keep it simple because it is simple. Don’t overthink it.

Re: 08 v6 trans cooler question

Yep....just run the cooler oil outside of the radiator cooler system, to keep the 210 coolant away from the trans cooler system. Plug the radiator fittings to stop the trans fluid from dripping all over the joint.

You shouldnt need to worry about winter cold temps in AZ,,,as most do up in the colder norther states.
