68 door handle
Has anybody had any luck modifying newer style door handles to work on a 68 truck?

I thought the different exterior door handles was a 1967 only feature.

My 68 gmc was all original the doors are indented with backers just like 67

I put repro outer door handles on my 68 with no problems . I believe that 67 was the only oddball . Maybe some very early 68s had carryovers.

You can purchase beveled washers at most hardware stores to use inside door to create a flat surface for the bolt head inside the door in order to use a 68-72 exterior door handle on 1967 style doors. You may need to get a slightly longer bolt for the handles depending upon the thickness of the beveled washers.
