47-59 help with engine supplier

Do any of you guys, especially around Corvallis, Oregon know anything about a business called Turbo Tech Engines in Corvallis, OR? I'm debating on buying an engine from them and having trouble with info. Thanks in advance.

A lot of the engines he lists sound like Rings, rods and mains and a gasket set refresh jobs. Like the "rebuilt 350 Chevy for 700" that you used to see in the thrifty nickle a lot back before the internet. I've done a lot of those refresh jobs for myself with rings rods and mains and a valve job but never sold any to others.
The reviews seem a bit sketchy.
I've been looking for an aluminum LS for an OT swap that I want to do but think I'd rather find a donor off copart or another auction if I can get one right.

One thing, freight to ship that engine or engine and trans 2073 =/- miles isn't going to be cheap. Plus a crate fee as you can't expect anyone to buy the lumber and crate one up for free. It's a four hour and ten minute 245 mile drive from my house Making it a 6 hour drive in my F250. That 300 and camper hauling gears doesn't like 70mph.

I'd find a recommended builder somewhere close to you. That way you can get local recommendations plus check out their shop and talk to the builder.

Warranty claims are best handled locally, not someplace far away. Ask somebody at a local car club who they recommend for rebuilds.

I presume you are looking for a GM engine. Have you considered buying one across the parts counter at your local Chevy / GMC dealership? Shipping is usually free and they have a great warranty. They will also bargain with you on price because they realize you have options to purchase an engine elsewhere.

post 4 makes a good point in at least checking the local GM dealer for an engine price. I have installed many of these over the years and never had a comeback or warranty issue. there are a few things on the list to also include in the price, stuff that makes sense from a warrantee perspective, like replacing oil cooler in rad, oil cooler lines, etc. this is because some engines grenaded and so these parts may have metal fragments stuck inside. some shops say they "thoruoghly clean" oil coolers etc. i actually cut apart an oil cooler from inside the rad, after i had 'thoruoghly cleaned" it, and found it contained some shrapnel. definately not worth the risk when you think about the cost of the engines these days.
anyway, it's worth checking. ask for the performance parts catalogue or look online for a link to it. there are several engines available in various HP configurations
