The paint on the Cameo was mixed from some surviving parts of the original truck. I had the truck for many years and was contacted by the new owner to repaint it the original colors. His uncle owned a 58 Cameo with the two-tone blue paint so the new owner wanted to replace his uncle's truck as accurately as we could. The upgraded 327 engine and trans were already in the truck but we couldn't get anyone to overhaul the factory 4-speed trans so we opted for a 700R. We did use the original shift control but made a acrylic indicator to match the 700R's pattern.

Thanks for your interest. This truck is one of our favorites also and we became good friends with the owner and his wife.

We haven't had much interest in the sale of our business. It seems that the land is more valuable than all the buildings and shops we did. One developer wants to bulldoze the property and put in apartments but we're just not willing to do that, so the search continues.
Even though we're not taking on any more restorations and have switched to doing service and general repair on classic cars and trucks. There were still some unfinished projects that are slowly getting done and back to their owners.
The 66 GMC carryall is done and has left the shop. And soon others will follow. Here are some pics of the Jimmy, finished.

That is fabulous! I would rather drive that than anything I see on the market nowadays. I think they should copy all the older body styles and put today drivetrains in them.

First off...I apologize for posting up a Ford on the all Chevy/GMC forum. Personally I like the fords also, we just haven't done that many and the cost is considerably more that our Chevs to restore. They're just not as well supported in the aftermarket.
This truck is a rare bird. A 1962 F100 Unibody shortbed with wrap around big back window, custom cab, restomod cruiser built for fun. The suspension is Mustang 2 with power rack in front and 4-link rear with coil-overs all around. A posi 9" 3:55 geared 4 wheel disc brake makes this truck a pleasure to drive. The T-5 and 289K motor brings a little snot to the performance end of things. We added a wood bed where there was none plus some custom stitching from ScottyBob.
Please don't hate... I think most of you guys like nice old trucks no matter what the make. All of them have a right to a second life. Right?

My dad lived in Hogeye when he passed away I got his 64 f100 short bed and his short bed unibody.

Crazy... I worked in Hogeye for 30 years, might have known your dad.


It's great to see an older build come back. 'Maude' is a truck we built about 7 years ago or so, has come back for some maintenance and repair. Maude belonged to a wonderful ol'country gal that used the truck, hard. Hauling firewood, feed and fertilizer. Never out of the weather and never serviced until now. After some cosmetic fixes and fluid changes plus a buff and wax, not to mention a full 3/16" plate steel bed. Maude is ready to get back to work.
