Question: Usual shipping cost for dash pad
Was just wondering what it normally costs to ship a dash pad. I put the dimensions for the box into UPS's website, and came up with around $32.00 to go from OH to PA. Sound right?

For a dashpad, the length is considered as an oversized package, which brings the shipping to around $27 via FedEx Ground even if it only weighed a pound. UPS is usually higher, especially if you go through their UPS store which use to be Mailboxes Etc.

Around $32 would be correct for it going UPS. clarkjw24 when your work gets the UPS bill if you check you would see UPS raised the rate charged because these pads boxed are a OS II in size and get billed as though they weigh 50lbs even if they only weigh a few lbs. Its those OSI & OSII dimensions that kill you on shipping large light items.

I did forget about the oversize dims. They hadn't shipped it yet so I fixed it and I'm ok. It ended up costing me $21.

I'm not sure how far you were shipping it, but I shipped one a few months ago and UPS wanted 58.00+ to ship it. I wound up going to FedEx and shipped it for 29.00. I was at the Post Office later picking one up that I had shipped to me from Canada, and out of curiosity I asked the PostMaster to give me a price to ship it to the farthest zip from me (Washington State), and their rate was 14.00.
Just my $.02. Mike |
