Kill Switch

I have a 78 that i'm gonna install a kill switch on for security. Which wire should i put this on. i would like it to be in the cab somewhere. What kinda of switch should i get, amps? fuse? let me know what yall got.

i went to walmart and got a basic toggle switch... i wired it in with the power wire going to the hei. my hei power cable is run separately so if they hotwire the truck and the killswitch is activated the starter will spin over for a while but after that they got nothing. i like how mine is setup... i just need to hide it now. autozone and oreilly have all kinds of a neat looking switches.. i had already run an inline fuse for the hei power cable and i think i was using some big power cable...

i was thinking the hei power wire too...any others?

you could probably run one to disable the starter...

there is the power wire to your ignition, or the purple wire that goes to the starter. not sure if anyone has switched those

If you've got an electric fuel pump switch the feed to that.
