Re: Glass installer near Gloucester, Massachusetts

My 67 came without the trim so I decided that I wanted the trim. I had stripped a 71 Suburban some 30 years ago and used the trim and gasket from it. The windshield was original to the truck.

After 4 attempts with different aftermarket gaskets, the original GM one left the best overall fit and finish. Aftermarket gaskets didn't seat all the way on the inside of the glass opening. The aftermarket ones were definitely easier to work with because they were more pliable compared to a 55 year old GM gasket but would not seat properly or hold the stainless trim during install no matter how much tape I used to try to hold the trim in place.

Just my 2 cents on my experience. I hope your install goes well.
