Question '69 bench seat tilt bolts

Looking at the bench seat (used) with the tilt back, the two bolts that secures the rear to the bench to be able to tilt some, can't locate any ones to use, has standard bolts now and fit too tight for tilt, any info what is correct or where to get a couple. thanks

Re: '69 bench seat tilt bolts

I'm not sure what the exact size is, but the originals are shoulder bolts.

Re: '69 bench seat tilt bolts

understand that it's a shoulder type just dont have the measurements, 3/8 thread but looks like the bracket screw hole is counter sunk,
such a small part to make a bigger problem as the custom seat cover will be damaged if the tilt is used, checked with the mail order folks and nobody has anything to offer.
I know someone on the site will have a answer, always, great info here.

Re: '69 bench seat tilt bolts

Can you post a photo of the seat back hinge? I'm not aware of a factory 69 with a movable seat back.

Re: '69 bench seat tilt bolts

67-68 seats tilt, 69-72 do not(I'm sure there are a few exceptions)
Plenty of threads about making the mod. Put a (secured)pin through the bolt holes, and perhaps modify the seat covers
See if you like it first, a lot of folks seem to think it's not worth the trouble, YMMV

Re: '69 bench seat tilt bolts

Re: '69 bench seat tilt bolts

This thread and the links in it should help you determine if you have a factory 67-72 seat in your truck.

Re: '69 bench seat tilt bolts

I bought a bench seat on CL that said it was for a 1966. Not sure. It bolted right in to my 1970 and tilts.
