deluxe side mirror questions
I am going to be installing these on my dads truck soon (freshly painted) and was curious if there is supposed to be a gasket BEHIND the big metal plate to protect the door?. They came with a gasket to put between the mirror and the plate but not the plate and the door. Also the screws are too big for the holes in this plate. Is it ok to ream them out a tad or is that wrong?. Thanks

Im not sure what you are asking, but the plate goes on the inside of door and mirror and gasket on outside. The screws go into the plate. John

John, I didn't realize the plate goes on the inside!. I thought it seemed weird that the plate would sit on the outside. I don't have these style on my 70' so I wasn't sure. The screws are a little fat for the plate but I guess I'll go ahead and ream them out a little. Thanks for the help!

The gasket goes between the mirror and the door ,there was no gasket between the bracket and the inside of the door, The screws are slightly oversize so they tighten in the bracket .You might want to place the bracket in a vice and test the screws again B4 enlarging the holes. Here are some pic that might help you in placing the mirrors.Had to add a pic with the new paint

The last set I installed the screws screwed in pretty tight. I would screw them in and out of the bracket before installation to open the holes a bit

ok ok ok lol i just think by looking at the end of the base and the end of the gasket they dont look the same size must be because the base is at a angle and the gasket in flat
