Installing my vortec 350

I have my engine torn down, the enigine is a 98 350 vortec, I have a few questions on what I need to do about,
a) fuel pump, since there is no provision for a mechanical pump, so what fuel pump would be good to use
b) flywheel, will I need to purchase a new one for use on my motor, and will I need to have the crank, hamonic balancer, and flywheel balanced,
c) ram horn exhaust manifolds, can they be used till I can get headers
d) bellhousing, any difference in bolt pattern?

so far it looks like I am going to be into this engine for about $1,200 thats with new heads, intake, and re-ring kit, the block , crank, cam and pistons are in good to excellent shape, next I need to find a good 4 speed tranny

there are tons of options on fuel pump. I like the idea of the Holley "blue" pump.
get a flywheel for a '92 K2500 with a 5 speed.
no balancing needed (350's are internally balanced)
it uses the same exhaust as any other small block all the way back to '57
same bell housing botl pattern.
are you looking for a "truck" 4 speed with granny low or a conventional "car" type?
I have a complete "truck" 4 speed with bellhousing & all linkage from '68 if interested.

oops, I forgot to mention. I recommend replacing the fuel pressure regulator while it is apart. if when you get it in & running & it runs a little rough let me know. I can help as I have been into so many of these doing driveability diagnostics it is unreal. we have one customer with about 15 of them.

thanks for the flywheel info, I should of stated that I am, going Edelbrock intake and carb, and I am going towards, a "car" type of tranny, this truck will be more of a daily driver, so I want a little more on the streetability side,

I dont remember which one (red or blue) is for carbs. are you changing heads or using one of the retrofit intakes?

I'm running a Carter pump. I think it's a little noisey so I'd try to find something else. This is after mounting it on rubber engine mounts. I'm not running a regulator on mine, but probably should. I've wired in a relay and power distribution block under the hood to power the fuel pump since it runs all the time.

Just bolt up the flywheel you're running and bolt up your current tranny. I'm running auto, so I just pulled the flexplate and swapped it over.

I did swap balancers, but I also replaced the timing chain/gears and put on a tin timing cover to get a usable timing tab, thus the different balancer.

I'm assuming you got your ignition lined up too since you're going Carb. Remember to swap the distributor gear to wear properly with the roller cam's drive gear.

I spliced in the wire for the temp sending unit. Seems to work fine.

I went with headers off the bat. You could run the exhaust you've got.
