well i picked up some naval jelly, but not for my bolts, but for some areas on my parts that are hard to get to with a sander. so i just use like a paint brush to apply the naval jelly? it says on the bottle to let it sit for 15 mins?

Many parts suppliers sell new bolts for about a quarter a bolt for body bolts. The last batch I bought came from Ricks Pickup Parts.

Like previously stated you'll want to think about corrosion protection if you clean those bolts. Stainless is the way I'm going but Eastwood has some kits to Tin-Zinc plate or OEM type "blackening" kits that may be a option for you. If you go to the local home supply/hardware store you can pick up cheaper Grade 5 SS hardware. Just carry a magnet with you. If it sticks it is low quality and should probably pass on it.

i sand blast then use naval jelly. the naval jelly leaves a protective coating then paint.

i thought you are supposed to wash the naval jelly off after you let it set for a little while? i am just going to use naval jelly for hard to get to rust spots on parts, and i am just going to replace my old bolts with new stainless ones.
