Headers

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am putting a new ZZ454 / 440 HP GM high performance engine (with aluminum heads) in my ^#(*!$$#&#% 72 long bed. I CAN'T find a header to fit this ^#(*!$$#&#% engine!
It's obvious I'm new to this "restoration" crap, but i'm fed up!!!

I have a collection of brand new headers of all sorts that the sellers WILL NOT let me return without bilking me dry for restocking fees after they "guarantee they'll fit". My lawyer is helping me work this out.

This after I have spent dozens of hours on the phone explaining what to application is and exactly what I need. The supliers say "I have just what you need" and when it arrives ^#(*!$$#&#% wrong again. Can someone PLEASE HELP ME. The total cost for headers to this point is $2755.70 and not a one fits. What a ripoff for people trying to learn a new hobby.

Here are some of my new friends, NOT! Headman, Hooker, Edelbrock, Stans Headers.

Anyone want a '72 LWB C20 halfway to C10 with all the parts, except headers, to complete the restoration.
^#(*!$$#&#%

are you running angle plug heads?? My aluminum heads have the angle plugs...takes a special header to fit. If they are angled...just be sure to tell them that...if they are not angled...well, just disregard this reply!

What exactly is the problem? Why won't any of these headers fit?

just an idea, have Doug Thorley make a set. that is if he doesnt have some "on the shelf". they do some odd-ball applications. we get them from him for the front wheel drive motorhomes which have an Olds powertrain. I dont have a link but they are called "Doug Thorley Headders" if memory is correct.

Because the head bolts are so tall. If I grind the flanges to fit ( their about a 1/2" off)then on #5 & #6 exhaust ports the bolts will have to pass through the tubing walls on the header. and on a few of the other tubes the grinding will be slightly into the tubing to flange weld.

WTF is up with that? I HAVE Edelbrock Heads on my BB and Headman headers
fit just fine. I read a mag article somewhere about your problem can't remember the cure. I think they used different head bolts? Can you post some pictures of these heads?

how about some sort of header flange/head extention..I know they make them for SBC. Are the head bolts or head studs? Which heads are on the engine?
