Is this factory blue?
I've never seen the factory blue in it's un-faded state. Trying to decide if I wanna go back with factory blue or something different.

That looks lie one of the shades of blue offered. If it isn't, then it is at least darn close.

Nope, don't think it is. You better give that one up and look for one that is factory blue. I can take it off your hands to help ease the pain.

Looked at autocolorlibrary.com and it looks like the light blue offered from 67-69 to me. Not an expert mind you. I could swear thats the original color of my truck and it is a 72. My buddy called it Hawaiian Blue.

Well since this is a color thread I'll continue here, just switching colors.
Many years ago I stopped at my local Napa for parts and see this very sweet 65 C-10 parked there, I was driving a 66 at the time. The 65 was done in yellow, the coolest looking yellow I'd ever seen. If I remember right it had the white cab top like factory, the truck really looked sharp. I walk in the Napa store, find the owner of the 65 and proceed to compliment him on his truck, then asked what the name of the yellow is. He replied: "93 F*rd Probe Yellow". I made sure to remember that so if I ever painted one yellow I'd want it that shade exactly. Now after looking at autocolorlibrary.com I don't see anything called "93 F*rd Probe yellow", or any variation of that name in fact. If I walk into the paint store and ask for that color paint are they look at me like I'm stupid? Was the guy at Napa so many years ago just jerkin my chain or what? Am I stupid or do I just ask stupid questions? Are the two mutually exclusive? You decide. |

Thanks for the link Hook'em. I don't remember the 65 being that bright, but I guess 10 years does strange things to ones memory. . .
Dave, thats a beautiful truck man, I like the two-tone paint job. Looks like a different blue than the one I posted, but could be the sun light making the difference. Eh, I may just go with flat black for awhile. |

TugOwar- I think I took that first pic at a show in Tenn. a while back, but I don't know the owner. Here is a pic of boardmember Brave Dave's truck from Texas. It looks pretty close. Maybe you could contact him to get the color.

Tugowar I stand corrected, his is not Hawaiian Blue it's 70 Med. blue. I know he agonized for 2 weeks on the color before he painted it. Hell to get old...memory is the 2nd thing to go.

Hugger I think you're right about the pic, I'm sure I got it off this board not too long ago. Brave Dave sure has a beautiful ride!
Old Dave, no problem on the mix up. Honestly there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference in the two. Thanks for the link CW, that looks more like what I remember. I'm still undecided, blue or yellow. . .hmmmm |

I think that the guy that told you it was 93 Ford Probe Yellow meant that was the year and type of car that color was used on. So if you went to the paint store you should be able to look in there books under 93 Ford Cars and find this color. I hope this helps.
