The garden truck has a little shine.....
Well I had the radiator core support, inner fenders, battery tray assembly, hood hinges, corner braces, our duel electric fan shroud, and tow hooks all powder coated!! Got it all mounted including the new radiator, cooling fans, and our pollished stainless steel radiator cover. (Can't sell the parts if you don't showcase them...lol) I think that it will brighten up the underside of the hood pretty good... Still waiting for some finish work on the other front end parts to be able to finish assembling the front end! But at least it is forward motion..... WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

The garden truck is what I effectionately call the truck that we use around here for just about everything we do on the property. If I need to haul the John Deer riding mower to the shop, I use the "Garden Truck", if I need to haul some gravel, I again use the "Garden Truck". The "Garden Truck" got started when Grandma needed to borrow one of my trucks to haul some dirt for one of her several flower beds, and her vegitable garden. She wound up borrowing one so much that I ended up buying a 67 3/4 ton 2X4 that she could use any time she needed it without having to ask. That is when I started calling the ole 67 the "Garden Truck". Anyway when this 4x4 came into my stable, I decided since I have most everything to restore it, and that this would be a lot better to use as a garden truck than the ole 67 is, we would use it instead. (Seeing how it has the larger rear window) It will be a lot easier to drive than the 67. I like looking over my shoulder to watch for traffic on the freeway, and with the 67 all you see is the big cab corner...lol Anyway I decided to restore this 4x4 and use it as the "Garden Truck" and sell the ole 67 to someone who wants a realy nice 67. Here is a picture of the original "Garden Truck"

Thanks again for all the compliments. I appriciate them. FRENCHBLUE72, There isn't realy that much hard work to be done around here and I will definetly take precausions to protect the truck. I will be line-Xing the bed to protect it and I have a little trailer to load the john deer on... It just isn't the truck that I want to build to drive all the time and I do believe driving them after restoring them. The "Panel Project" isn't even the truck that I want to drive every day...lol The one that is realy going to be the one I drive all the time is my 72 Cheyenne K-20 with A/C. I will realy take my time with that one. It will have all that the "Garden Truck" has and more!! I realy like Big Blocks, so I will be installing one in that truck. I am going to build it like I think that GM should have if they would have built a Big Block 4X4 back then. No hammering out or cutting the firewall... I did that in my 72 BB K-5 and have always regretted that decision since. (I will fix that sometime in the future..) I also realy like the look of the 2 tone trucks, so I have an idea for a couple of sweet colors that I will be painting it. It will also get all the trim, bells, and whistles... Except the cruise control, those were not very functional... That truck will be dubbed "Daily Driver" LOL...
silvertonguedevil, Directions are: I-5 north to exit #99 Go right (east) at the end of the exit for 1.2 miles. You come to a 4 way stop. Proceed strait through the 4 way stop and start watching to your right. I am the 4th place on the right. (You wont miss it, I have a sign on my building, and my trailer out front.) Also lots of the 67-72 trucks out front... Let me know if you have any questions. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
