Gas Tank Question

I'm considering using a 97 Vortec in my Blazer and would need to have a high pressure fuel pump to feed it. I'd rather use a GM in tank unit and possibly a tank from a late model Blazer or Yukon. Does anyone know if a late model tank would fit in the stock loaction? Thanks

I bought a oversize tank 37gal from www.NWMP.com I will be running an external pump to feed my FI setup. They may make one that uses an internal pump? Oh and be prepared they are not that cheep. I spent like 400 for mine.

I have heard of the second gen Blazer tanks fitting, you have to spin the tank around for the filler neck.
Good luck

I'm hoping a late 80's to mid 90's tank would fit? Anything in the fuel injected era. Those tanks should have the baffle and sump for the in tank pumps. I'll have to get the higher pressure pump and fit it into the tank. I had a custom tank built for my pickup for this motor, but now would like to use this in the Blazer and get a BB Vortec for the pickup. Why? I don't know, it's just something I have to do

I have a fuel tank from a 97 Tahoe in my 72 Blazer. It had the original Vortec high pressure fuel pump, which I changed out for my TPI setup. The Tahoe fuel tank also has the fuel fill inlet on the correct side.

tpi72 can you provide some details on the installation? How large is the tank, any cutting to fit it in, any problems? Thanks
