How much Trans fluid for a 400 transmission
I changed the filter and drained the trans fluid. How much goes back in?

i put like 13 or 14 quarts in my th350. probably not too different but dont know for sure. my TC was dry and with just draining the pan wont drain the TC

i swapped mine and it took around 9 to 11 quarts or so

If all you did was drop the pan and change the filter, I'd would refill with 4 quarts, then top it off if necessary after it's warmed up. If that trans was bone dry including the "verter" it would hold 10-11 qts.
