Master cyl.problem
My master cyl. (power brakes) seems to forcing fluid out between the gasket and body. The resevoir isn't overfull, the bales are tough to get on the lid,yet when I shut off the engine I hear what seems to be a hissing sound. The cyl.body is soaked with fluid. Is it possible for air to be building up in the system and forcing the fluid out?My power booster vacuum line goes into the manifold behind carb.Do I have it in the wrong spot?Has anyone ever come across this problem before?Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think you have 2 seperate problems.
The hissing is unrelated to the fluid being forced out. The fluid seapage seems to be a common thing. A board member (can't remember who) said that is you file down the top of the resivour with a flat file, that should make it seal. To do this with it mounted, take out some fluid, and stuff rages into the 2 chaimbers...paper towls would probably work better though. |
