Windsheild stickers
I'm picking up a new windsheild this afternoon and I have the gasket ordered from Wes. So later this week (hopefully) I'll be installing the new windsheild, it'll be so nice to be able to SEE through the glass!
Anyway, my question is about the Tax and Inspection stickers on the windsheild. These aren't designed to be transferable. What do you guys usually do about these things? Thanks |

Call and ask, but around here you scrape it off and take it in (in pieces if neccessary)and explain that the windshield was replaced and they give you another no cost.

They are easily peeled off the windshield, just take a corner and pull real slow. You to can spray some windex on the exposed sticker to help remove them. If you do it right they will still be sticky. You can purchase a new registration sticker from the tax office, i believe it is like $5.00 for a replacement, but will have to spend 13.50 for a new inspection sticker.

Not sure what you use your truck for, but since you live in Texas you can go with antique tags and not have any windshield stickers. With antiques tags the registration goes on the back plate and inspection is not required, neither is a front plate. Not really supposed to use the truck as a daily driver if you go that route though. The registration is alot cheaper also and is good for 5 years, not one.

I went many years going to the junk yard and peeling inspection stickers from the windshields and putting them on mine. I never tried the registration (tax) sticker, and I would hesitate to do so. They say VOID all over them when ever you peel them, and then you'd be looked at for improper registration... cal the DPS and tell them whats up, I think it is actually 10 bucks for lost registration...but it's been a while since I messed with Tx stuff. (insp was 10 bucks last I heard)

Missouri does not allow you to transfer them. We keep the reciept for the glass and run no stickers until renewal time. Call your DMV.
