Here I was starting to think you were going for that Limo look. I just noticed you are right down the road in San Josy about 85 miles from me. We just finished last year an expansion on the SJCC. I guess I just assume most guys on this site are out os state from us. I did just allow another member to move into town here with me "Tony from Norcal" and went over and checked out his ride and I must say that DropMember is a thing of beauity! Let me knoiw when a local meet is planned and I will bring my 70 down to show it the older blood lines that it came from!

Keep up the great work on the crew as I have a 71 4dr crew in the works that will be set up on a 1ton frame, diesel powered (Cummins 12V) and a duelly. My rear doors will be suicied into the fronts with out a B post to get in the way. Here is the start of my project. Figured it would be alot better to get the rear doors swinging before cutting mine apart for the streach.

Two of my other 4dr projects. The burb is getting the 4dr treatment than a Tahoe rear end chop before getting sold as a project. The 4dr truck in the driveway is a customers I did the 4dr work on as well as a few pounds of rust work.

I decided to go without a filler, I'm going to lean back the front door angle to match the rear. That way it will flow very nicely etween the two doors, and the rear will definately be suicide.

That truck is going to rule! Diesel, dually, suicide rear doors, very nice. Are you going to have the doors latch together to eliminate the b pillar, or is there going to be a b pillar not visable when the doors are closed?

House hunting is a pain, it's just like looking at old cars. Everyone thinks their delapidated, run down beater is worth way more then it is, just because of what it is. A project that needs alot of work is still a project, no matter how nice it's paint looks.

Let me know about the A/C, I can do a quick system check for you. Should only take and hour or so, and keeps everything running real effecient. Let me know the filter size before hand, I can pick up some filters for next to nothing.

Yes I am going to use the factory 98 extended cab rear door latches and the front door will latch into the stock location but on the front of the rear doors. I picked up the cab that is sitting on the ground just for the B pillars so I can graft them into the rear doors.

Any chance that someone clould take a measure ment on a 64-66 cab across the roof for me? I'm stuck on the fact that the 63 and down trucks suck in alot at the doors and roofline right before the windshield, and was wondering if the 64+ do the same. I really need to know if the width at the front of the cab is narrower then the rear of the cab in realtion to the door jamb measurement.

If I understand what you are looking for....it is a 1/2 inch or a little less narrower at the top front of the jamb than at the top rear of the jamb, let me know if this is not what you meant.

I think I figured out what the various coach builders did with the roof skin..
I think they ordered brand new suburban/panel skins from gm when they did the conversion.
they probably cut them to length and then spotted them along the drip rail.
that would explain why the crew cab roofs step up is the middle instead of the back....

also ... here is a photo chop that I have been playing with....

I have learned some things building this....
It is nearly impossible to forsee all the problems with this kind of project. I am just thankful that I have a shop mate with a sheet metal shop that he can use. I'm going to have to cut the roof off halfway down the door length, as the cab rolls in toward the front. New sheet metal pieces are going to have to be made to go from the mid roof section of the rear cab to the front cab door edge. The door sealing area width also changes on this run, so I am going to have to make alot of changes to the doors.

The area from the front cab to halfway down the rear cab will be all new, on the roof and the doors. I'll try to post some pictures later in the week of what I have been doing. Anyone got another cab they want to donate for pieces?

Waiting on parts!
I ordered new rockers, which I need to build the doors, I'm having new cab upper sections made to tie the two cabs together, and I'm trying to go through the wiring harness for the 5.3. I've been too busy doing other stuff at the moment to really mess with the truck too much, but I am slowly plugging away at it.

Hey Jerry,
That roof section got smashed while I was moving some stuff around the shop, however, I do have a roof section in what appears to be way better shape. I'll take some pics tomorrow!

I'm good man....just plugging along on the vette...trying to make next Saturdays show with a running chassis.
