They look nice! A little too expensive for my budget though. I'll have to stick with the Sylvania's I bought from Walmart for $10 a piece.

I'm glad you got your truck! Can't wait to see what you do to it.

I really like what you have done. The 400 is a very nice touch.

Sorry...haven't been in this thread in a while. Yes, the headlight bezels shown in these pics are plastic LMC's. They look good... easy replacement. I've since replaced them with metal originals with black accents that I scored at the swap. I have the LMC one's still...stored.

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

Thanks to my buddy and my cousin, I got to 'new' front tires from Craigslist and a set of Rockets from a local swap meet. I'm in a little debt to those guys, but they were both nice enough to let me take the merchandise... I'm on the "Chicano pay as you can plan" with both of them.

I only have the front two installed so far...

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

Thanks for the compliments guys. Turns out I may have to stick with the old moons. When I got the front tires mounted and balanced, the guy didn't tell me that one was bent. I took it out on the highway and she shakes pretty good at about 55....goes away at 65 or so. Anyhow, I got it rebalanced at another tire store and the guy took me out to the shop to show me the bent wheel on the balance machine. He tried to balance it out, but it still shakes at those speeds. I considered putting that wheel on back, but I'm still not sure. I really dig how they look...it's really what I was after, but it may not work out...

I decided to just run the Rockets. It's a little bumpy at some speeds, but it just looks too dam cool... I'll post some pics of it with all four some day...

That truck in my avatar is my '62, circa 1981, when my it belonged to my brother...

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

No updates. I've just been driving it. It's been my daily driver lately. I have to deal with a couple of issues that I've been putting off. It has a 2-piece driveshaft and the carrier bearing is going bad. I'll be switching to a one piece driveshaft soon. Also, my turn signal switch is turning into powder...only works left. That's also on the 'to-do' list.

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

I did a couple things to the 'daily driver'.

Using junkyard parts I repaired the turn signal switch. I replaced the turn siganl cam with a nice one. The signals work like new again...

Since the truck was originally a 454 truck, the original p/s pump had been 'rigged up' to fit a small block. I ran it for a while, but lately the fabbed up brackets began to fatigue and break. I got a small block setup from the junkyard and put it in... It's proper now...

Other than that, she's treating me good and bringing me to work everyday...

Re: 1973 Cheyenne Super 10

Did a little something to the '73. Thanks Jonboy for the extra air cleaner. I actually located one at the shop right before yours arrived, but I like having extra parts on the shelf.

I got this idea from the show "Musclecar". They made a double snorkel air cleaner for one of their projects. I found a donor air cleaner... did some cutting and grinding a riveting and painting and this is what I came up with...
