Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
I know there has been some questions in regards to trailing arm-to-frame clearances at full deflate. I mocked up a rear trailing arm suspension in my 69 today to verify a few things.... good news! Looks like my 3" Drop Trailing arms will let you lay out a 31" tall tire with room to spare! When I built these arms the intent wasn't to be able to use them with an extreme drop (frame laying), but it looks like they will lay frame with a big roller WITHOUT the trailing arms contacting the frame rails. I will be posting up some pics later this evening.

Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
I figured I could tweak one of your notches to still work for my truck arm application(s).

Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
So another DropMember and a set of rear arms and LowBuk could scrape with the rest of my heard
So instead of spending more money on the 4 link set up plus time to instal,l guys can just bolt in the new arms and a notch and be done? Sounds like you are kind of screwing your self out of 4 link sales but it is a great thing for the rest of us. Lower stand and a higher wallet! Definitely want to see some pics! Kevin LFD Inc. Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
They run $499 for the pair. I can build them without the drop if you would like.

Re: 2" Drop Trailing arms
Here's some pics from todays mock-up. As mentioned, I never intended for these trailing arms to be used in what I would consider to be an "extreme drop" application (I already have a rear four-link set-up for that.. AKA Dropmember Rear). I figured there would be clearance issues with them contacting the frame-rails, as do the factory trailing arms, limiting the drop that could be achieved. I dug out my 69 shop project that has been accumulating dust, so I could finish up my hood hinge instructions, and figured that I would mock-up the trailing arm rear just to see how low it could get before the trailing arms contacted the frame-rails. To my surprise, here's what I found:
You can see in the pics that I blocked up the frame-rails with 2" blocks (still has a factory trailing arm x-member in it, and so I couldn't lay it flat) I then set 3" spacers under the 295 30 R22s (29" tall). With the 3" spacers under the tires, the axle rested in the bottom of the notch (It's a PB bolt-in notch that come with the Dropmember Rear kits) and the rails rested flat on the 2" blocks. With these measurements I have approx. another 2" of overall tire diameter I can still lay the rails flat with... that's 31" tall!!! You can also see in the pics that I still have a fair amount of clearance before the arms would contact the rails (approx. 1"). The trailing arms pictured have the lower spring/bag mount in it's factory location, which would not be compatible in this scenario. I also had to extend the trailing arm's length 1.5" to center them in the notch at full dump.
