Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got a little done or I should say started today. I started installing the c-notch kit from cpp. I still have to drill some more holes and clean up a couple plates that go on top of the springs. They had a little rust in between them and the framerail. I'll hit them with a rusty metal primer and paint them before puting them back on. The c notch will cover them but I wanted to clean them up so they'll hopefully stop rusting. The other plate on the framerails looked good. Everything is just loosely sitting there right now. I didn't get to any of the ECE stuff yet.

keep up the progress...it's weird how you're having the ECE issues when most have those issues with CPP>...

Oh I don't have any issues I just haven't gotten to puting any of the stuff on.

The only issue I had was getting the 2.5'' drop spindles. If thats what your talking about then yes did have an issue. It took about a month to get them as they were on back order.

Word to the wise for anyone planning on installing some--Order them ahead of time so your not waiting on them. That could go for all of your suspension parts I guess. I always thought that they'd be a week getting here but you never know.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Little to no progress. But a little is better than none I guess. I got the c-notches primed, rear crossmember supports painted, trailing arms welded up, spring holders painted too.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I am doing the same thing right now...painting chassis parts. I also stitched up my trailing arms. I think maybe your welds look better then mine.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks! I got some more pics. I didn't get a pic of the c notches painted but they have been. I know its a bad pic of the trailing arms but I don't have a lot of room to work in. One of them has a light spot that I didn't notice till I posted the pic. I'll hit it again.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

great progress! I really hope you have that shock collar on the lowest setting on that little guy! I had a golden retriever that like to run away and after two or three zaps all we had to do was just put in on him and not even take the remote and you could have him jump thru a ring of fire! yes I had to try it and they put out a good jolt! dont tell me you did not think about it yourself!

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Her collar just beeps the warning and doesn't shock her. She knows her boundries well. Although she did attack a Husky that was being walked by the neighbor. So I may adjust it. I tried it and its like pulling a rubber band that on your wrist. But its enough to get her attention. She doesn't wander off at all. She knows where shes spoiled. She just doesn't like other dogs. She came from a family with two big dogs so I guess she wants to run them off since shes the queen here. Look at the paragraph here. Get me talkin about my little baby. You asked for it LOL.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

i thinkit is cool! pets are like are kids in our house hold. they get taken care off very well. my dog has had 2 ice pops for everyone that i have had this summer so far. they are truely a gift and we are very lucky with all of ours. well accept for the dumb chickens that kick the mulch on to the driveway and side walk digging for grubbs!!

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

In these pics the trailing arms are on and springs bolted up. I may have to drop the trailing arms to mount the rearend. We'll see. The top shock relocating mounts are on. I need to clean up the rearend and get it on so I can get it rolling again. I've been down with my back so all I can do is post pics and clean parts. Light ones. This is how she sits as of now.

Thanks. She doesn't help that much. She'll come down there and sit on my foot just to let me know its time to rub her.

Nice progress! Will your floor jack lift up the rear enough to get it installed?

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Yeah I think it'll go that high. I just thought it may be a tight fit with the cross members. I'm gonna try it like it is before I unbolt anything.
