I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build

awesome build you have going on there keep it going...i will be looking into alot of people's build to figure out what i should do with mine...the floors in my cab are rotted out as well but a buddy of mine said we could just cut it out, clean it up and then slap some sheet metal in there and button it up...my bed that came with the buy isnt the original, it came from a 70's chevy...and about what you posted in my tread about the cab being 7 grand....yea, i think ill take my chance first at trying to fix the original...worst case scenario for my build, it wont be restored it will become a rat rod...which is a great look that im looking for but only as a last resort

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build

thanks man!

I finallly got the driveshaft back from the being balanced

Got that little pesky spido cable plug changed out. "crossing fingers"

Started going thru the donors wiring harness, this ought to be really fun!

On the way is;

full door window kit from Ecklers to finish off the elimination of the vent windows.

a pair of front fenders from Up22.com (fiberglass) I hope these are as nice as they say they are.

now toying around with revamping my old headlamp buckets or shelling out 75 a pop for new assemblies. not sure which way to go as of now.

sorry for a boring post with no pics

I have till end of April/May to get it wired and prepped for glass. then she is off to the glass doctor. We will then see what happens, worky or no worky.

stay tuned...

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build

Get the 47-54 AD.54&551st are the same.Follow the 54 parts and you will do fine.there are a few parts that are 54&551st belonging to these years only.

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build

shavy shavy the cowl vent.

carefully hammer and dollied the vents just closed enough so there was enough support for the glass.

Here are a few picks, The vent in the last pics are of it just sitting in there, I have a bit more work to do to it and pick up some 3m body sealer.

27 bux a tube is a tad scary, but eh... maybe it goes a long way.

Thank You Mr. Ogre!

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build

Looking good.
Don't forget to plug the wiper drain holes otherwise you'll still get drainage in the cowl

Made some progress yesterday...

Finished prepping the back of the cab, and I just about got the dash to how I want it.
