Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
well, Its been a while since ive had an update. Im finally moved into my new house, got my truck back home from my folks house, and i got my shop setup...so its on! ive decided to do a back half instead of a typical notch, fuel cell behind rear axle, and watts link. Thanks to *****************/Quality air ride for my new goodies. bushings for my four link and firestone f9000 sleeve bags for the back. let the build continue!!

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
i do have a question about the bags. when the bag is fully deflated the actual rubber rolls down past the lower mounting surface. so does my lower bagplate need to be such a small diameter that it actually goes up into the bag? i thought that you dont want anything touching the rubber ever to avoid rubbing and possibly rubbing through the bag. Any input on a lower bagplate diameter would be appreciated? Thanks

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
Nice work man! my lower arms are actual chrome bagged arms from air ride tech so im not much help there. I might be able to get in there and get a pic with them all the way down so you can see but it might be difficult

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
got some work done this weekend!
ordered up material for back half and link bars. welded up link bar but need to machine threaded bungs for adjustable bushings. measured about 50 times and cut my frame in half. im using 2" x 6" tubing squeezed inside of stock c-channel frame. im having my fourlink front mount still bolt on throught stock frame and new tubing, but the new tubing is going to be welded and gusseted to frame. ordering fuel cell and building roung tubing frame around lower section of firewall and a new x-member with driveshaft hoop out of roung tubing. enjoy the pics! |

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
The critical measurements you need are the measurements that keep your rear end square to the frame and the correct distance from the transmission. I designed my whole rear end in solidworks so mine is totally customand it wont help you much. Just remember to keep it square so your truck tracks strait down the road. Good luck!

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
any ideas on a cool set of motor mounts? the stock shell style just look boring to me? does anyone make a set of billet housings or something?

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
maybe use a rubber bushing (like a link bushing) and pipe, in a T shape, with a simple bracket on the motor, hell, I dont know.
