Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
still going on body work. Spent a good 4 hours on the ezy beat puller, pulling all the dents out and shrinking the metal back. Getting t0 the end now. Alot of curves and lines to follow on these things
As i was fitting all the small trim up i decided to clean up the door trim as it just didn't fit perfect (if it doesn't fit, weld it haha) ALOT smoother look when finished. Yea i had the option to get brand new doors, but here in Aus the cheapest i could get a set was $680 each door. And then still hours on fitting and shaving them.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Almost there. guards and doors all matched up. finished up the metal work on the bonnet "hood" last night. It was sunken in the middle and the gaps were horrible. but ready for a skim of filler and primer.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Thanks guys.
Well had a lucky day the other day. A local motor trimmer had a facebook competition to win $2500 towards a leather interior just by leaving your name on the facebook. And i ended up winning it, so the interior is now sorted. Finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Doing my last part of the painting, last high fill priming before going of to paint on all the guards doors and bonnet. will get more pics when i finish it on sunday. here is under the hood body worked and primed. Also bought myself a cabinet parts sandblaster works like a treat. a before and after.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Been busy getting the brake lines and fuel lines finished. All in zink coated steel. was not as hard as i thought but im happy with how it turned out for me first time.
AN fuel fittings are SOOO expensive here in Aus. And flaring the steel 3/8 tube for the brass olives and an fitting is SO hard and frustrating. Got the exhaust happening also. Almost finished it but the engine mounts on the left hand side hit the header so dont know what im going to do with that. bought 4 - 90' and 2 - 45' bends and 3 metres of pipe i want to be able to unbolt the mufflers for shows etc so just welded some flanges in. Looking to test fire the motor within the next 2 weeks, I will be putting a video up for sure.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Blake,
How did you strip the paint? I got a quote to do some rust repairs and general body work on my 48 today and I just feel it has to be worth a try, It is obvious you have loads of natural talent but reading your Thread gives us "Normal Mortals" faith. Want to visit WA anytime soon? Its a great place to visit and hang out with your new mate shane and help with his truck lol. We are always looking for good sign writers. Thanks Shane

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)
Thanks Fellas,
finished up the exhaust, decided to heat wrap the top. decided that the fuel line is just to close to the headers so going to have to redo it some how have not sorted that out yet, there are not many option to get to the front. Exhaust in painted and finished
