Re: 1967 swb frame off build
I don't have enough experience to give a dollar amount, but I have always assumed that you generally don't get your money back on these things. People will debate various dollar amounts but ultimately if the buyer and seller can agree on a price, then that's what it was worth.

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
He kept on asking to buy the truck and I've told him no a bunch of times. He finally asked what's it gonna take to own the truck. I told him 35k not expecting him to pay it. He said he'll pay the 35k for the truck and now I'm still not sure I want to sell it lol. I built the truck to keep and enjoy. That's why it's so hard to get rid of it. I don't want to sell it and completely regret doing it in a month or two lol

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
That's the real question here. Did you build this truck because you loved the process.....or did you build it for you to keep it and the build was somewhat of a discouragement much of the time? If you loved the process, sell her while you have a buyer willing to pay you good money for her and dream up the next build.

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
I don't know about you but I enjoy the build sometimes more than the finished product. 35k Seems like good money and you could build another one if you enjoy the build process more than driving your finished truck.

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
The build process is fun, but also stressful to me. I just want to enjoy something for now. Even if I sell it I'll buy something else that's complete.

I can understand that too. For me, the long build process is like therapy

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
I'll tell you how I look at it with my vehicles. I don't want to sell either of them so I put out a ridiculous price if it ever gets that far. It usually ends there, but I typically throw in "but even then, I'm not sure." I've never had someone seriously offer me anything I couldn't refuse.
I like the build process, but I really enjoy driving them and talking with people about them, so for me, it's not just the build, but more of the fun I have with it when it's drivable (they're never "done"). You've invested your time, money and more importantly, your creativity and personal taste into this truck. You might be able to buy one again, but will you want to change it, or regret selling this one? If you'd rather build one again a little differently, you can always buy another project. But if you like how it's turned out and just want to enjoy it, hold onto it and tell the guy if you ever decide to sell it you'll let him know. I'd keep it myself, but good luck making your decision.

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
Did a few more things to the truck. The 4l80e I put in is so much better than the turbo 350. I also went with chrome bumpers and grill trim. The grill pieces are from Lmc and they fit like ****. That's the second part I've ordered from them that I haven't been happy with.

There is a picture of THE two vehicles I have always liked the most of any!
Love the chrome on the front end!

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
Glad to see you haven't sold it. Always said this would be perfect if it had chrome bumpers & trim , guess it's perfect now!
Nice touch on the hood , answers another question that I had on my own 67 , no hood letters cleans it up even more - Very nice |

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
Glad you noticed. Yes I took the hood letters off too. Makes for a much cleaner look.

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
How's it run with the FAST? Also, get the injector situation figured out?

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
Had the truck tuned last week. With the intake change power stayed the same but picked up a bunch of tq. The 4l80e takes more power to turn so I'm assuming it did pick up power as well.

The red is the old set up and blue is new on the dyno sheet.

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
Wow that's an impressive torque curve and a huge Torque increase going from a good Intake to pretty much the best one on the market.

Re: 1967 swb frame off build
Tuning likely played a bigger part in the added tq. than the intake did.

Here's the new intake installed. Doesn't look as flashy but still looks pretty cool.
