Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Thank you, I hope it will be.
I purchased a roll of 1/4" X 1/4" screen and formed it ever so carefully almost wire by wire to fit in the underside so that it would support itself. Then I read recently where one of our members here used some hot glue ensure his stayed a few years ago (still works) so I used some too.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Back when the local trailer guy brought my truck home from the painter - 1 year, 1 month, 1 day after I let them have it.
In your "wildest" dreams - what do you think the cost was, all new sheet-metall before the painter got it.

The cost would not surprise me to be close if not over $10k

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

I installed the AC unit I'm using onto the firewall using a 'weld mount' system keeping the firewall clean on the engine side. Wired in the control panel and the unit fan motor. I'm going to remove it to insulate and get ready to carpet. Be a while again as I have to go out of town to work to pay for it.

Nice job, looks great. What air/cond unit is that? I like it. Everybody says vintage air but i don't like the blower fan looking at you.

Thank you. This is the slowest build I've ever had.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

They always say 'just six months' but it's always 8 to 12. Can't even touch the money though, so I go - and row well.
Once you get overseas though, I may be gone until I retire in like five years. Last time I did two 18 month jobs back to back.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

I don't blame you. A guy has to take advantage of those good opportunities when they come along.

Stay safe and stop in from time to time and say Hi.

Well now they're saying it "may" be in Mindanao - hint: If so that's a 'no-go' for me.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Travel Advisory: "The whole of the far south is a no-go zone: the areas of Mindanao, the Sulu Archipelago, and the Zamboanga Peninsula are all considered extremely dangerous and travelers are advised to stay away. The terrorist group Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has been blamed for numerous violent incidents, kidnappings, and frequent clashes with the Filipino security forces

Spin-off terrorist groups, including the Abu Sayyaf Group and Jema‘ah Islamiyah, have broken away from MILF, and are particularly dangerous. They are responsible for bombings which have resulted in property damage, injury and death. The more rural areas of the country, including the island of Luzon to the north, should be avoided as it has seen the increased presence of the terrorist organization, The New People‘s Army (NPA).

Over the past few years, terrorist acts, involving explosive devices in North Cotabato Province, Basilan, Isabela City, Jolo, Cotabato City, Makati and the Zamboanga airport, have resulted in 41 deaths, and severe injury to well over 100 more. Most of the bombings took place on public transportation, and in crowded locations including restaurants and cathedrals.

The unpredictability of terrorist acts makes them much more dangerous, so steer clear of the locations where they are more likely to occur."

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Yeah, I'd say stay far, far, far away from that area. I had no idea such activity occurs in that area. You don't hear anything about it on any news source I pay attention to. Now I know there is more than one meaning for MILF.......

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

I forgot to post this. I removed the front end from the truck to get ready to install the engine and trans. Did it mostly as an exploratory option, should work well. Now I'm thinking about changing my brake booster and hinges for chrome units.
