C10Randy, your truck looks pretty solid body wise, almost a creamsicle color isn't it, interesting. rims make a huge difference too.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
this is a lil 68 my wife and i just bought, a neighbor about 4 blocks away has owned it the last 10 years and i saw it in his driveway when we moved here about 8 years ago, i told her then, "if its ever for sale, we are buying it!" and whattya know we saw it with a sign in the window the first day he had it for sale.. lucky we saw it because trucks like this usually dont last long for sale.. any way we have some big plans for it.. disc brakes all around, bags, possibly a 383 with a blower. and we will be looking for ideas here on the forum as well. any way, hope you all like the pics.

That is awesome! And what a great story. I stop at every old truck I see for sale or not. I haven't been shot at yet, but most people are willing to at least talk about them. ha

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
i have a buddy that says i should leave it alone too, kinda keep it a "rat rod" style. it has a pretty nice 350 in it, not stock by any means, but the 3 speed on the floor is what i really dont care for. i have a 350 turbo that i bought from the guy i bought the truck from its built and was behind a big block in a pretty badass 85 cutlass he had, its got a 2800 stall, and with the 373 rear end should make a pretty sweet street rod. but the interior is pretty bad, no carpet, nasty old buckets out of something,no heater controls, but mechanically its a solid truck right now. i dont know, right now its just a dream in my head, ultimately it all boils down to how much do i want to spend? haha we definetly want a bench seat and all the window seals and interior stuff fixed it rattles like its gonna fall apart from the inside out, haha. we have never done a vehicle before, so kinda steering towards getting it mechanically how we want it first, then the interior is second. drum brakes all the way around suck as far as im concerned.so they gotta go. i will keep everyone posted on progress, it'll be slow going as i've never done one before so any help and input would be greatly appreciated!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
That's a sweet truck!
Those wheels look awesome! I love the color combo of the truck! That's an awesome color, the stance and overall look of the truck are great! Is that a faux patina? Last edited by 05snopro440; 01-07-2014 at 06:28 PM. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
Looks like you got a good deal , just drive it and do mods as you can afford it, that way you are enjoying it.

We shot a white base color and then a caltrans yellow and then wet sanded all the gloss out so it would be a flat color... Then went deeper in some spots to distress it..... I do a lot of wood working stuff and just used the same techniques..... It's just the way I like it! |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
Wow, now that is one beautiful truck what are the specs on the suspension and wheel/tire combo. I assume it's bagged due to the gauge and switches in the center of the dash.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
it is bagged, wheels are 20x8 and 22x9.5 vision wheels. "torque thrust" knock offs. Ive used this sight many times for help or inspiration in the past and appreciate all the kind words.
