That's awesome Mike! How's it running? My 1500 4x4 is right at 200k and still rocks. I see about 18mpg city or highway and I'm no light foot either.

The little 4.8 runs awesome. Its so fun to drive and I know I've said it before but dang it's really hard not to stand on the pedal every time I leave a stop sign....

Hey Mike, nice to see you enjoying this beauty. I'm jealous. How is the gas filler working out, does it fill up easily and what about gas spilling back out?

Thanks Chip, I would drive mine every day if it wasn't such as hassle. I think one day I'll build a beater/shop truck just so I can. Fact is, I have so much time tied up in the paint, I'd like to keep it nice. So selective weather days, selective parking, etc. is the norm.

Thanks, It's a blast to drive. As far as the gas filler goes. It works satisfactorily. That is I can fill it up on the first notch on the filler. I have only filled it at the same station so, I'm not sure how it varies from pump to pump?
Overall, I'm fine with taking a little longer to fill up. It usually means a fellow will have time to come over and talk to me about it.

And this is the reason for the patina popularity.
And why you can't buy a nice straight original paint short wheelbase C10 for under $10k.
But I would love to own your truck.

Right on, Keith. I have been looking for years for a nice original paint truck for a driver. When I do find them they are way out of my range, and usually need normal rust repair. I should just build one out of all my left over parts.
Thanks for the kind words.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

My wife and I took the truck out for a nice long Sunday drive yesterday. About 155 miles round trip.
The wind was howling out of the North so the way down was pretty quiet, the way back we had some nice wind noise.
Anyway, the engine performed flawlessly, even had to jump on it a few times to pass slow cars on a 2 lane highway coming home.

It got warm enough I had to use the Vintage Air a little too. It's nice to have heat and air .
It was a really nice drive. I will be driving it to work some this week too. Supposed to be nice weather this week.

Here's a few pictures we shot at Arbuckle lake:

Thanks Mark, it was a great trip, I had a brain lapse when I got to Paul's Valley and realized I had no spare tire...Kinda late at that point. I'm glad I had no tire trouble.
Originally, I was just going to drive down to Chickasha exit, ended up just letting her rip on the open road.....
