hmmmm . . .

I guess I don't get it: a rusty old thing like that with an engine bay you could eat out of.

Patina = rust = falling apart to me.

I get it, and think it's pretty cool.

Patina = Character

A truck that's survived this long and is still going strong says a lot.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks

Thanks for all comments good and bad. I bought this truck about 3 years ago along with some others. I was going to build it and after leaving GoodGuys Dallas a couple years ago, I decided to do a quicky and bring it. I didnt make it in 2008 because of hurricane crap so i barely made it in 2009 to Goodguys. After having fun with it and Keith (N2BILLET) at show he talked me into keeping it. He didnt have to try very hard. I sold a nice 69 short wide at Goodguys in 07 for 25K with only 212 miles on it. I have enjoyed driving this truck more than that one. I have hade more fun with this truck since i left Goodguys and still working on it. Plan on painting inside and driving it. I am getting all my pictures together to put together a little build thread. Divorce and 60 hr work weeks slow me down alot.
People ask what the H..L i am driving that rustbucket for, i tell them that is all i got out of my divorce. LOL
Thanks guys

72 K-20 Painted John Deer Green by previous owner.

Hoping someone can tell me what the original emblems were that belong on the truck! Let me know what info you would need to help figure it out!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks

I'm new to the site but here is some pics of my truck. I had a supercharged 383 lt1 in the truck but I sold that now I'm putting in a 650rwhp 1200rwflbs duramax diesel with the allison trans. It has been alot of work but I should have it on the road late this summer.

I like the idea of your swap it should be pretty cool, but I would have concerns about the weight of that drivetrain with the stock half ton balljoints and control arms. I know they came with Big blocks but I know the diesel is heavier and the allison isn't light either. I bet it will be a serious tire smoker though.

How hard was it to put that late model bed on your truck? I have had thoughts of cutting down my longbed and installing the same shortbed stepside. Any pics of the install?

Very interesting truck BC. Do you have a build thread going? Looks like some frame mods happening to get that wide radiator in there.
That combo ought to be fun in that lite shorty.

Still have to finish up a few things before I throw on the center caps, but I'm lovin' it.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks

Thanks guys. 72BlckButy for the most part I think it is, but there is a little bit of rust on the rocker panels right below the doors. If you look closely that area is black. It looks like the guy who owned it before my father-in-law tried to address the issue but I was looking at it yesterday and there is some rust there. I won't be able to address that issue myself until I have the money, skill, and/or a garage. I don't think it's bad but it would definitely have to be taken care of as well as some other small dings and dents before a fresh paint job but that will be the last thing I do.

I do have some plans in the works for her though and 72BlckButy your truck is a major inspiration for me. I'm gonna do 15x7 and 15x8 Rally wheels, just waiting on one 15x7, front disk upgrade with a 3.5-4" drop in the front and a flip kit in the rear for a 5" drop. I'm also gonna do an HEI dizzy(purchased), a rebuilt/remanufactured monojet, and a full tune up.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks

Trust me... I'm envious of that truck. It will make a great project.

Thanks for the kind words. I've had several trucks on the board that I worked from, so I am only continuing on the legacy.
