The vehicle I posted is one of a whole fleet like that. They are used for tours through yellowstone national park I took the photo on my way back from washington with the '67 lwb.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
well i dedcided i cant live with my front bed panel being smooth. I put tons of work into the side panels trying to keep them stock looking so ...i have to do the same for the front bed panel. The front panel is a Mar-K panel that is 16 guage metal, i looked everywhere to try to find someone that had a machine tough enough to roll this pattern into 16 guage but no luck ! So my new plan is overlaying it with this 20 guage panel with the pattern rolled into it ....make any sense?? LOL

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
If it wasn't pain to ship I would buy that one and U could get the 1 U need--Is that new panel going to butt up to the lap seam at the top??

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
they dont make the one that i need we sectioned the bedsides taking 4 1/2 inches out so that makes the indented panel much narrower ! and yes it will butt up to the lap seam and be welded fully across and smoothed in

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
gotcha---I am old school about welding in panels but buddy of mine has brought me around on panel bond epoxy---I've seen him bond a panel overlay kind of like yours and then skim the seam --no problems for almost 2 years-no warping from heat---just a thought ---will send pics in day or so on the cuts I made to my inner bed panels --using some of the panel bonding techniques.......jim

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
I agree with jtp67-72. You should look into the bonding system. I used it on my buddy Jimbo's 67 bed. We made raised panels to cover some bad metal in his bed. Most auto paint stores carry the panel adhesive, and should let you use the gun for spreading the adhesive. Here are a few shots showing how we did our's. Hope this helps....Jim

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
That was my 1st thought--and some will disagree but the "new school" body guys say there is NO flex if applied right--If u try to pull a cured seam apart the metal tears before the epoxy --I know ---sounds weird--Talk to Kenny about it....jim That tube u see in the other Jim's pic is about $54--

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
We had seams that came together, and we used short stran fiberglass filler. Have not encountered any cracks on any panel with over 2,000 miles of driving on some different types of roads.....Jim
