Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
Hey man, what headers are those and how much do they run? I've had a hell of time trying to find decent headers I won't have to fab to make fit. Nice truck btw, gave me some ideas of own!

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
maybe an update?
ok, here it goes. I have the rear disk kit bought and on the shelf. I bought a prop valve, and the stainless brake line. Rotors are on the shelf. I have a buddy custom fabbing a stainless fuel cell for me. I also bought a bead roller to start work on the inside of the bed. Still need some ideas on that but It will be raised 3-4" for sure to clear the fuel cell. As soon as I get the fuel cell (which may be a while as its getting done in his spare time @work) I'll be ready to start on it again. I need to get a game plan for front and rear inner fenders going as well. I want them to match on all 4 corners. I also bought a new car. We flew out to salt lake city and drove it home. We picked it up a while back. I just got it finished. This is how it looked when we picked it up. |

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
And now. Removed the louvers, gas tank door, all tint, lowered the front, added black center caps and black lug nuts, ceramic brake pads, added hood struts, and put the stock radio back in it. Its a 2003 with 21,000 miles. 32 valve DOHC all aluminum 281, eaton roots blower, TKO 600, 31 spline axles, 4.10 gears.

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
I'm sure that has a little get up and go....I test drove one of those when I worked at a pontiac/gmc dealership. The guy was trying to trade it in on a denali. He had basic mods with an x-pipe, cold air intake, pulleys, and gears...and was a blast to drive....sounded great too!

Chuck I went by your place this weekend and noticed the bed was in your garage. I don't make it down to TR that much but I did drive by your house.
Get back to work on that truck would ya...... Marc

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
To be honest I didn't notice your garage was missing the front. I just looked over and saw your bed which surprised me because I didn't think that you had any of your truck at your house. I spent lastnight fixing my garage door. I would have rather been turning wrenches on the truck

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
I hope to see progress on your truck sometime soon. It's one of my all time favorite C10's! I like the mix of old (taillights, chop) and new (wheels, etc...). BTW, went through your thread again, and I love your house man! Later.

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
So... a lot has been happening in my life over the last few years. A lot of GOOD things. This year really has been a great one and things are looking up. First of all, I married the love of my life, Dawn, this October @ Greenfield Village in Detroit. Honeymoon is set for over the Holidays in Lake Placed, NY.

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
I love going over to my old mans place to work cause we have everything under the sun over there as far as tools go.... but I was also just maxed out on space to store my own stuff between a bike, a car, a project truck, and all my other toys and junk. It was just that time.
So I started cleaning out the garage back in Feburary. I craigslist-ed a few jems, waited on my tax return, applied for permits and the needed variance. The permit/variance process took a few months, but i broke ground in May. The Problem.... |

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
I absolutely LOVE new construction. It took a couple days to knock down the old garage. The 8x12 lean-to was actually a shed I built a while back and I just moved it to a different corner of my lot so I can store the mower and other gardening tools.

Re: No Regrets - The Rebuild post
This summer, I was a busy boy. I farmed out the flatwork, had some help from friends and family on a few weekends with the heavy lifting, and my wife worked her little butt off with me.
The shop is a 24x40x10. The facade is custom pine mill work by yours truly to match the turn-of-the-century house. For the rest I went with steel to withstand the weather and 150 year old trees in my neighborhood. The inside is finished with drywall and hardwood trim. |
