I don't know if it is as simple as just adding the correct metering block with the adjustment screws on it or not. You may want that for your final installation onto the LQ4 so you can dial in the idle mixture better. It might be worth looking into down the road.

I switched from a 600 to a 750 on my Malibu and dropped half a second in the quarter mile on back to back runs. It definitely lost some off idle throttle response and gets worse gas mileage now though. I say keep the 670 until you are done with the build then see if you can borrow a 750 from somebody to test out before you drop the coin on another carb. Plus side you can spend the cash you would have used on a 750 carb on other parts of the build.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
That is pretty much my plan. Put it on and see what happens. If it falls on its face at like 4000 then i will get bigger one to try from someware not sure where tho. The interactive thing on holleys web site says 670 should do fine with slight modifiyed engine of my size.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
there a thread of a genIII 6.0 and square body that had some headers that fit nice. not sure whether your 4x4 would be able to use the same thing though.

The s and p ones are 600 bucks for shortys... Way over priced..
If it is the thread i am thinking of they used f body ones. I will see if i can get a link.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
That thing is pretty ugly. I would be inclined to take it to a local rebuilder and have them clean it up and go through it to make sure everything is in good working order after the time it spent sitting out in the elements.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
The only element i think it was sitting in is liquid. I will have it tested. The bendix part looks pretty clean tho. To say the least i was unhappy when i looked in side the box..

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I'm going to have a full set of brand new p-rods left over from my 6.0 that I'm not using? Does the hot cam require hardened p-rods? Also have a set of the LY6 springs...which I'd think would be heavier duty then say a LQ4 or LQ9 due to the larger valves? Doubt they're made for much lift tho.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I dont know if it requires hardend pushrods. Its not a very big agressive cam. The cam should be coming with new matched springs with it. What length push rods did you end up going with you new cam 68gmccustom?

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
haven't ordered yet but did a valve tip swipe and it looked like the stock length was going to be OK...then I did a zero lash check this weekend and came up with a figure of roughly -.125 difference in my adj. p-rod, and the stock p-rod. I need to check with my expert and see if thats about the right preload or not.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Ok thanks for the info. I may pull my heads this week end and find a shop to check them. Hope there is no problems with my cylinder boars. Have no idea how long the thing has sat. And my dang warrenty is already up on it.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
somthing I'd have done to mine had I know it was going to sit this long....pull the p-rods. Not only does it give the springs a break...it keeps all the valves shut to keep moisture from rusting the valve seats and keeps from allowing moisture into the cylinder.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I know i should have done that. Used to do it to our race car every week. Used to back off rockers. It had a massive lift cam. Prety sure it was a 740 lift cam. Good thing i am tossing the old springs. Are you using the factory rockers? I am not real sure how to adjust the valves. I beleve they are not adjustable but have not played around with them yet.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Does it really mater if i mount my fuel pump a little higher then the bottom of the tank. There is no good place to put the big ass thing. And the dand inlet and outlet is on the wronge sides. If i mount it on inside of the passenger side the inlet is twards the front and out is at the back. Any ideas?

I know...mount it upside down!
with the LSx and all....what would it look like if you were to run you fuel line on the other side of the frame?
