Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
Well my april deadline to get this driving has come and gone. im pretty disappointed but in my defense i have been trying with all the spare time i have. Gotta just buy a harness and finally rule out all these electrical issues.

Keep at it bro, your truck is sick! I wish I was where you are at. I say buy the harness and you'll be glad you did. You are so close. You will be on the road in no time..

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
Hey man,
Just came across your build thread. I am in orange county and have completed a decent number of swaps, we should be able to get this setup running. Just to quickly troubleshoot: -Engine is a 2001 -what year harness (modified by lt1swap) -what year pcm (was this tuned/re-flashed) have you checked if it is pulling any codes? where are you located in SoCal? |

The harness was modified by myself per lt1swap.com and i sent the pcm to them for the tune (standard with delete of stuff not needed) I cant get my reader to connect with pcm. Live in laguna hills. Would be super interested in finding out what you would charge to get this up and running. |

I'll try to find a time to come and visit to check it out. I could bring a buddy and at least get an idea about what may be going on. Send me a PM with your phone #.

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
Sweet, someone help this guy get his great looking truck on the road. 65imp, I hope you can get this thing fired up so the disgust goes away and he will be fired up to finish this project when he hears it run. Great looking short bed, I have been trying for two years to find time to swap my 1 ton to a 2wd frame and build it. Kids are way to busy and I can't find the time. Good luck with this great build.

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
Man, that throaty exhausts sounds great. This is all it took for me to get my ass in gear on my '37. I got it fired up and the next month drove it to a cruise. A buddy and myself hit it hard for 3 weeks every night for a couple of hours and got it on the road. Sometimes all it takes is a sign your getting somewhere. Keep pluggin along and get her out on the street. Congrats man.....

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
I know, kinda boring pic, but progress...picked up some buddy buckets, preatty rough seats and frame but could pony up for a nice set..plus this isnt going to be a show truck so what ever. need a new water pump and to bleed the brakes and i should be able to pull her out of the garage under her own power.

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
i used a couple of the (extra) keyed hots on the fuse block and didn't realize, even after being in the box with the multimeter a 1000 times, that there weren't any fuses in the extra hots because they are not typically used. I was literally writing an email to Bill @ BP to make me a harness cuz i was fed up and a light bulb went off in my head. Ran out to the truck, slammed a couple fuses in and BAME! Still will have a harness made when i pull the truck apart to clean it all up, but for now just gonna run what i brung!
