Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Stopped by my son's house and we did a little work on the '67 swb. Had to stop early so he and his wife could go buy a new clothes drier.
He got the front cab support slip-ons fitted and welded while I scrapped the sealer out of the drip rail and removed the old door seals. Then we took the windshield and rear window out. The gaskets appeared to be original, so it took a lot of cutting of them to get the window and windshield out. I almost forgot we took the doors off since we finished the outer rockers and they were just in the way. We will be using different doors. The more work we do on the cab the more rust we find that needs to be repaired, it seems. Oh well it is ok, that way my son and I will be able to spend more time together.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed my Level 3 700R4, what a difference. Should have done this long ago. Love the 2000 stall and overdrive. Going to take a while to get used to this...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I don't post much on this part of the board, mostly on the 69-72 Blazer side. But I finely put shocks on my 1970 GMC. It still had the original ones on it. Well at 72,000 miles and 41 years I guess it was time for new ones! You old timers know what the original shocks look like, but you young guys may not. Here is a picture of the original shocks. Here is a original T-3 head light I had to replace while I was working on it. Sorry, it's bad picture of the T-3. (the flash was on when I took the picture) You can barely make it out the T-3 in the center of the blub. It rides a lot better with the new shocks but it still needs sway bar up front. I have one ready to go on but that will be project for another day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Me and my 11 year old daughter took the 71 to the cemetery to visit some long lost friends as we sat there in the sun I could not believe how many people stopped and looked at the truck. I probably had more views there than at the car shows

Not that old and mine has the originals too! (not for long) Actually, someone a little older than me told me they were original spirals.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed the remote starter solenoid to combat the heat soak starter issue I have been having. Cost about 30 bucks. Now I'm gonna have to drive it on a couple of hot days to see if it is fixed.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
removed the steering box, removed the transfer case. turns out that ignorant youth makes it alot easier to remove a 205 by yourself. when did they get so heavy? it used to be easier.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Didn't get a ton of work done today, had to fix a lawnmower for my dad, and promptly busted a sprinkler head testing it out...
I mounted the winch box and tested the winch out and stretched out my cable. I got a little done on the mockup, but I'm not sure which way to proceed just yet... |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
After we got the front clip on yesterday, I couldn't help myself. Even tho it was Sunday, I had to go over to the shop to check it out. Well, I came dragging a$$ home five hours later after fixing some stuff..
....finding out what I needed to re-do, and then doing some wiring. More cracks in the old brake lines. LMC gets another $150 for ss lines..... I bent one myself (to the back...it's not leaking). Gotta make a new hard line for the fuel pump to the filter. It got "nastied" from the install of the front... hung up on the passenger side (of course) inner. Both trans lines had to be re-bent. They would have scraped the harmonic balancer until...well, more leaking river of trans fluid. The top rad. hose is 5" too short. I'll look for something.....That kind of stuff happens, 'eh? My friend is making a plate for the firewall for the Vintage Air/Heater inlet/outlets. Design is under way.

Started our budget emblem restoration.
Steel Wool + Patience = Shiny Patience + Paint = Not too bad! I am thrilled with how the first one turned out. They are not perfect, some are pitted worse than others, but for a driver they are gonna make a hige difference. Thanks for listening, Jeremy |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Cleaned my frame, waxed the engine bay, stuck my bike in the back and finally talked my girlfreind into sitting in it, then I couldn't pry her out with a crowbar.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
my truck is a plain c10 so I added all the moldings on there, I also noticed that there is a lower molding all the way at the bottom but decided not to buy it for now who knows I may get it in the future.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Pulled the engine, trans, tore down the engine, speced the parts, and took parts to the machine shop. Next week I'm picking up the disc brakes new rear end and a sport bumper!
