Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
The tank has a fuel pickup connection in the passenger side front lower corner. Still old school manual fuel pump as well. Glad the additional info helped!

OK, in an attempt to show progress, here is the completed rearview mirror assemblies that will be installed just as soon as we get the truck back.

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Just read thru you whole build thread. Really nice truck you have there. And loving the color too. I was originally going to paint mine indigo blue, but later decided it was took dark. I chose GM Arrival Blue that has some pearl in it. It is a little darker than yours. Great looking truck. Look forward to more pics/progress.

We got the truck back out of paint prison over Thanksgiving weekend but haven't even touched it since we got it off the trailer. Just been too busy with the holidays and all. Hoping to get back on it this weekend. Rear brakes are first. Not too exciting. But the fun stuff is coming!!

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Hahaha, yeah. That's how busy I've been. But started working on it again today. Tore into rear drums. Off to parts store in the AM to get some E-Brake cables. Decided not worth saving what was on there.

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Hahaha, yeah yeah! Mostly research and ordering parts this weekend, but we did completely redo the rear drums. Also installed the rear shocks. Spent most of the time determining whether we wanted to build our own brake lines or just order them. We caved and ordered stainless brake lines from Fine Lines. Also ordered disc conversion brake hoses from Early Classic.

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Wow! I'm lovin' that color you picked out, it looks so awesome on your truck! I love to look at people's build threads because it's so sweet seeing everyone's progress with their projects. I especially loved yours because it had a lot of different pics like with the drip rails. I'm curious to know when you tore out all the bondo and paint and all that away from the drip rails was there somewhat of a gap? If so what did you use to fill it in? I have a pretty wide continuous gap on my drip rails that i just filled in with some clear caulking for the time being. I also was wondering how come the rear wheel covers in the bed didn't get painted the color of the truck? Or did I just miss the pic showing that?...

As for the bed, it will all be linexed once its driveable again. We will be putting a bed cover on it. We wanted to be able to use the bed to haul coolers, chairs, tent, etc to shows and not worry about scratching it. I'm a big fan of build threads myself. that's where we got tons of ideas for our truck. We also learned many valuable lessons reading through others. And as you may have seen in places, my Dad and I learned some lessons too that we hope others will be able to use to save them time, headaches, etc. Keep watching our thread. We plan to have her back on the road this spring!

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
Oh ok. Yeah, I've learned a lot and have gained more ideas from these build threads. I never even thought of shaving the cowl until I saw your build thread! It looks so awesome like that too! And it doesn't even look that modified or unoriginal or however you want to say it, which is what I'm trying to stay with! So hope you don't mind me stealing your idea! lol

Re: Project Where'd The Money Go
OK, worked on the brake lines all weekend. We flush mounted the booster on the firewall. Crossing fingers it all works OK.
Crossing modern technology with old trucks - researching custom booster installations: Had to cut a new hole through firewall for rod to pass through. Also had to drill new holes for the lower mounting bolts Installed: And inside the cab: Here you can see the old holes we didn't use and the new lower holes. Tight fit
