Re: My new project 86 Silverado

It looks like the spindle arm is pretty close to the rim as well. Might just be the angle.

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

just bought BFG Radial TA's - 295-50-15 rear 245-60-15 front.
if front's are too small, i'll get wider one.

That will look sick!!!

I think you'll be fine on the tire size typically everyone runs a 245 or 255 up front.

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

I will start ordering all the smaller components that will make it so it's at least drivable here in the next few days.
tail light assemblies, side marker lights, headlight buckets, headlights, trim around headlights, i'm going to keep the dual tanks, so i'll get 2 new ones, i'll have to order new fuel lines, and a tank valve. I might go old school like may Dad's old Ford camper special...it had dual tanks with a brass valve behind the seat on the drivers side... when one tank got low, just switch it to the other... not sure yet, will have to see how much a electric valve is, and all that stuff... more to come

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Did you get the carbon fiber style tail lights? I can't think of how to really describe them but I have a visual of what they look like.

They make good stuff I got my battery tray from them I had to mess with a little to get it to line up but fits just just like the stock one no problems since!!

I finally started working on my frame!!! Woohoo!!!

Looks like you have some kickass parts coming your way can't wait!!

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

How did all your brake lines end up fitting for inline? The ones I got from Summit where a bit short but they work.

i'm waiting for my tires to come in tomorrow, once I have them mounted, i'll put the wheels on and plumb all the front brakes, plus, the rear end is not in yet either. it's raining too much here to even get out and do anything... sucks

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Updates...

Got tires, got them mounted and balanced... got the fronts bolted on...
May not be able to tell by the pics, but there is a big width difference between the 295/50's and the 245/60's...

Hopefully can get all the front steering installed, and the rest of the front end components (sway bar, shocks etc.) installed this week... slowly coming along...
should have my 9" rear in the next few days, and hopefully next week will get it and the flip kit installed... we'll see how the weather holds...
